Rooted in Purpose and Ready to Bloom: A Recap of the Root & Bloom Annual Retreat
This past weekend, the Root & Bloom Salon Source team gathered for our annual Account Manager Retreat and Certification, bringing together business development, product education, exciting announcements, and good old quality time and human connection!
This was all centered on a shared purpose: helping beauty professionals build businesses they love, with strong foundations and meaningful support.
Between conversations by the lake, hands-on demonstrations, and planning for the year ahead, one message carried through the retreat: Better Together. We left with new ways to serve our accounts, exciting opportunities to share, and a clearer picture of what we can build as a team.
Strong Foundations for the Next Stage of Growth
The retreat opened with the “Rooted to Bloom” framework, a reflection on the values, habits, and purpose behind our work. Team members explored what grounds them, what fills or drains their energy, and how their individual strengths can support the people around them.

That conversation connected directly to Root & Bloom’s mission: supporting hairstylists and salon owners with foundations for long-term growth. The team reflected on the company’s beginnings in organic beauty and its expansion into a broader portfolio of professional products, education, and business resources.
The opportunity ahead is personal as well as professional. We want to help salon owners feel confident in what they offer, help develop their teams, and find new ways to strengthen their businesses.
Product Education With a Business Purpose
Hands-on learning gave Account Managers a closer look at the brands and the opportunities they can bring to their accounts.

NATULIQUE education covered scalp and head spa experiences alongside styling products. The team explored how scalp-focused services, product demonstrations, and home care recommendations can fit into a salon’s client experience. Trying products and discussing their applications helped connect product knowledge to everyday salon work.
BARBERIAN men’s grooming introduced the team to an Australian range built around grooming, self-care, and sustainability. The sessions explored the brand’s approach and how its grooming products can broaden a salon’s offering.
CLIOVE and professional styling tools brought the focus to demonstrations, performance, and retail conversations. The aim was to help Account Managers explain where a product or tool fits and how a salon can introduce it to clients.
CURATED gives salons an opportunity to offer a personal beauty experience while expanding their service and retail conversations. For Root & Bloom, it adds another way to help accounts differentiate their businesses and deepen client relationships.
The agenda also included a HealthyLine exploration, giving the team a chance to consider wellness-oriented experiences alongside traditional beauty services.
Across the sessions, the question stayed consistent: How can this offering serve an account’s clients and support the business?
More Support for the Business Behind the Chair
The retreat also introduced FLAGSALON, a digital partnership designed to help salons make their online presence easier to use and more focused on booking appointments. The presentation covered salon websites, local search visibility, Google Business Profile support, and ongoing updates.
The team discussed a wider Beauty & Business Development Ecosystem connecting Root & Bloom with Biz Connect Coalition and The DNA of Beauty & Business Academy. Networking can open relationships, education can build confidence, and product support can help professionals put what they learn into practice.
Community was central to that discussion. Educator sessions, local collaborations, owner conversations, and future VIP experiences give accounts more opportunities to learn and connect.
Account Managers explored how thoughtful follow-up, consistent contact, and recognition can strengthen those relationships over time. Technology and growth-planning sessions supported the same goal: make it easier to stay organized, understand an account’s needs, and follow through.
Bringing the Learning Home
The team reviewed growth workbooks and a 30-day challenge to turn retreat ideas into action. Account Managers were encouraged to identify an opportunity in their own business or territory, then use a growth conversation to uncover an existing account’s goals before recommending a solution.
The Bloom Bag, a portable demonstration and styling kit for Account Managers, offered another resource for bringing product experiences directly to salons.

There was also time to enjoy being together. Shared meals, team photos, and relaxed conversations made space for relationships beyond the training sessions. Those connections matter when the team returns home and continues supporting one another.

As we look toward 2027, we’re excited to continue to service our existing accounts in bigger and better ways than ever before. And look forward to meeting more industry professionals who are passionate about clean beauty, luxury services, quality care and meaningful conversations.
We’re grateful to everyone who contributed their knowledge and helped make the retreat truly transformative.
Strong roots. New opportunities. Better Together.
